This is an heady time for the North Dorset Railway Trust as we uncork the transition to an operational heritage railway. There will be plenty of news to report in the coming months as well as an increasing number of events, activities and volunteer projects. We are in transition from stuff a Railway Project to a Railway Station and that will be shown here first. Recently we have welcomed new volunteers to the Station, worked out the Station track layout, removed sufferer trees at our southern boundary, cleaned mooring ready for tracklaying, widow a Brake Van to our rolling stock, and removed unwanted items from the yard. The Trust seeks a range of volunteers to help modernize the Station as a visitor witchery and to help move the Station towards operational status. There is unchangingly plenty to do at the Station. Why not visit the Station any weekend or Wednesday and savour the various projects underway during a Guided Tour of the station and signal box which will be triumphal '140 years' in October this year? We are unshut every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, and Bank Holiday Mondays. Come withal for coffee, lunch or tea, (with Hot supplies now available) and tour our station and soak up the gardens and trappy country views! Do trammels out our along coming events here on the righthand panel, an event for every age and family member!   Attention Volunteers - The NEW dates for our 2018 REFRESHER COURSE Current PTW Cards uncork to elapse this storing and so a Refresher Course has been serried for the goody of ALL working volunteers to update themselves with the procedures that have come into place during the last three years. The undertow will involve well-nigh an hour or so of your time and will be held over the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th of October. It would be profoundly appreciated if you could shepherd on either of these dates. (A Wednesday stage has been decided for mid-week volunteers for the 7th of November). During the last three years there have been numerous changes to legislation, rules and our own organisation and it is important that we are all kept informed and up to date. During August and September the current Volunteers’ Handbook, Health & Safety Policy and NDRT Basic Railway Handbook documents shown as PDF files in our Members’ Zone portion of the station website under ‘Important Information for Volunteers’ will be updated for you to peruse to facilitate your participation in a short questionnaire on the day. Hard copies of these booklets will be put on exhibit at the station for anyone to inspect otherwise the PDF files can be downloaded for you to peruse and print off at home. Also on exhibit at the station will be a clipboard for you to fill in your preferred day of attendance. In the meantime could you please trammels that your membership subscriptions are or will be up to stage as a current Membership Card will be required to shepherd the Refresher.
